Screen printing distributor Skyscreen Pvt, based in Mumbai, India, is now a distributor of technology from Croatia-based Azonprinter. Skyscreen will be supplying Azonprinter’s Mirage brand direct-to-garment (DTG) printer to the Indian market, according to the company.
Anil Brahmbhatt, managing director of Skyscreen, says: “The world is now moving towards digital including textile and garment decoration. Although we are predominantly dealing in screen-printing materials, we have decided to diversify into the digital DTG printing segment so that a balance is maintained in our product portfolio. To grow further in our business, we needed some additional attractive products to add to our portfolio. So, DTG printing is a fast-emerging area that we wanted tap into quickly.”
Specially designed for industrial production and large quantity garment printing jobs, the Mirage DTG printer comes with easy exchangeable dual-platen platform technology with a maximum 600 x 800mm print area (24inch x 32inch), says the company. It adds that the technology is best suited to the Indian market with a speed of up to 30 dark or 100 white garments per hour on two platens. One can undertake double, full-colour printing on any fabric with reproduction quality of 1440 dpi.
The Mirage DTG printer delivers a precise and reliable quality printing solution, says the company. The DTG printer comes with outstanding features in terms of wide colour gamut and durability, the company adds.

The Mirage DTG machine
The Mirage is adaptable for both large-scale facilities or smaller printing applications. With various platens the fabric is fixed inside the frame and has faster production, more flexibility and high efficiency. Mirage DTG is capable of printing on a wide range of finished garments such as T-shirts, sleeves, jeans, aprons and cloth panels. Even at full volume production, it offers highly durable and washable garment prints without colour fading, adds Skyscreen.
The Mirage DTG also has an improved LCD touch screen, larger 220 ml ink cartridges and new sophisticated RIP software. Unlike the previous generation with the belt system, this printer has implemented a servo motor and ball screw system, enabling the forward-backward movement of the printed object with maximum accuracy, according to the company.
Although the company’s major area of business is still the screen-printing sector, two years ago Skyscreen added a digital and heat transfer element into its growing product portfolio. “Taking up distributorship of the Mirage DTG printer will add further weightage to our growing product portfolio in screen and textile printing,” says Brahmbhatt. “With the backing of Azonprinter and its own in-house trained team, we will offer technical and customer support to customers in India.”
