Family-run Richard Hough, a supplier and manufacturer of a specialist range of rollers for the finishing and processing of paper and textiles, is transferring its industrial roller technology to KWF Hilger GmbH & Co based in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Richard Hough will cease manufacture at its UK plant in Bolton, Greater Manchester and merge its technology with KWF Hilger. These two highly advanced and technically competent companies will effectively become one, says the company.

Richard Hough and KWF Hilger say they both look back on the last 180 years as proud manufacturers and latterly as one of the world’s leading developers of innovative technology in the paper finishing, textile finishing and metal rolling process, the companies add.

KWF Hilger will now be offering the roll types Simtex, Roberto, Super-elastic and Nollapp from its Düsseldorf plant along with its established cotton and paper filled fibre rolls.

Richard Hough specialised in manufacturing specialist calendering rolls, squeezing rolls and cotton calender bowls for the textile industry. At the last edition of ITMA in Milan in 2015 the company showcased its, at the time, new Simtex calender roll.
