NUtec Digital Ink, a digital ink manufacturer headquartered in South Africa, has added to its dye-sublimation portfolio via the launch of the Aquamarine AQ20-DST-HC water-based digital ink.
Launched recently, the AQ20-DST-HC dye-sublimation ink is ‘designed for coated and uncoated transfer paper and offers excellent transfer density’. The ink is optimised for the Kyocera KJ4B series of print heads used in a number of EFI Reggiani machines and the MS Lario and JP4 printers, among others, the manufacturer says.
Additionally, the product boasts fast-drying features that allow ‘high-speed printing with lower ink consumption’ for companies concerned with their environmental footprint.
Developed for dye-sublimation transfer applications such as soft signage, banners, flags, promotional products, textiles and apparel, NUtec’s latest addition to its portfolio is said to increase productivity for those within the aforementioned sectors.
Neil Green, sales and marketing director at NUtec, says: “The Aquamarine AQ20-DST-HC ink delivers a superior colour gamut and high chroma. Users can confidently look forward to improved productivity as a result of this ink’s excellent print reliability for digital textile printing.
“The AQ20-DST-HC ink’s performance is supported by NUtec Digital’s Ink Delivery System Warranty which gives customers peace of mind when opting for any of our OEM alternative inks,” states Green.
The addition follows the proliferation of the use of water-based inks and coatings among leaders within the textile industry. Leading polymer company Covestro recently showcased its INSQIN water-based textile coatings at the European Coatings Show 2019, held in Nuremberg, Germany, which suggests water-based textile chemicals are the future for an industry which is battling to become more sustainable.
