Pozitive, which supplies an entire range of solutions to the sign and graphics industry, has struck a deal with Monti Antonio to become the OEM’s local supplier across Australia and the Pacific Islands.

Sydney-based Pozitive says it will now promote and sell Monti Antonio’s signature flatbed and calendar heat presses for dye-sublimation, fixation and bonding and take over the full duties of the Italian OEM’s previous supplier Jacques Journee.

“Pozitive are experts in digital textile printing systems and I am very pleased to be able to work alongside them after watching their growth for many years,” says Alessandro Silva, sales director of Monti Antonio. “They have proven themselves to be technically competent, passionate about our industry and highly professional in representing major brands. I am excited to welcome them to the Monti Antonio family.”

Sydney-based Pozitive is a local industry leader in the supply of UV flatbed printers, eco solvent printers, CNC Routers, laser cutters and engravers, dye-sublimation textile printers and a range of hardware, software and consumables for the sign making, screen printing, graphics, display and commercial printing industries.

Pozitive has already attracted a number of big-named clients to its expanding portfolio: Epson and Caldera are an example of the calibre of business to have already placed trust in the supplier. The Australian digital textile printing market has yet to reach its full potential, according to analysts, so it is understandable that we are seeing OEMs such as Monti Antonio repositioning themselves in order to better utilise the market.

Nevertheless, Australia’s digital textile printing sector is currently being propped up by the work of local print shops, which have invested in both high-speed and low-speed dye-sublimation print technology, according to WTiN Intelligence: Digital Textile. This is to meet the demand for swimwear and sportswear across Australia and the Pacific Islands.

“Our long history in apparel and sportswear markets, coupled with a strong foothold in the soft signage and graphics markets, will be the springboard to growth of the Monti Antonio brand in Australia and the Pacific Islands” says Pozitive managing director, Phil Trumble. “Monti Antonio equipment completes our total solution offering and gels perfectly with our wide portfolio of quality printing equipment, transfer paper and inks, along with our expertise in colour management.”

Meanwhile, to boost the distribution deal, Pozitive has appointed Bruce Gathercole – a veteran of the textile industry with 25 years’ experience in representing Monti Antonio – to lead textile sales in Melbourne.

“Bruce’s knowledge and expertise in textile printing and finishing made him an obvious choice to join our growing team” says Trumble. “We’ve worked together on projects over the years and I am delighted to be able to have Bruce join our team in a permanent role and with a strong focus on textile markets.”

Gathercole adds that he is “very excited to join the Pozitive team and be given the unique opportunity to provide clients with our total solution offering, which incorporates quality printers, consumables and the reliable Monti Antonio equipment.”

Monti Antonio has also taken measures to ensure that its existing customers across Australia and the Pacific Islands are unaffected by the transition. The Italian OEM’s previous supplier, Jacques Journee, have been fully compliant in the switch, according to Silva, and have pledged to assist Pozitive in providing a continuity of quality service and support for over 100 existing Monti Antonio clients.
