The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) recognised three of Fisher Textiles’ fabric medias in the categories of Apparel, Banner and Flag for the Association's 2018 Product of the Year competition.
This year’s competition included 68 categories which received a grand total of 255 submissions between them. Fisher’s winning fabric medias include the ET 3200 Hoodie, GF 4019 Nirvana B.O.B. and the DD 7801 Flag.
The ET 3200 Hoodie, winner of the 2018 Product of the Year Award for Media /Textile/Apparel, is a French terry sweatshirt material that is made in the USA from recycled yarns spun from PET bottles. This fabric is 92% Repreve Recycled Polyester and 8% Spandex. It is also treated with a moisture management system that promotes dryness, it has a four-way stretch for easy movement and can be printed on either the face side or the loop. Other than hoodies, the fabric is also suited to the manufacture of scarves, sweat shirts and sweat pants, says Fisher Textiles.

The ET3200 Hoodie will be on display at SGIA in October
Meanwhile, GF 4019 Nirvana B.O.B was named the 2018 Product of the Year for Media/Textile/Banner. This soft knit fabric has a white face and a finished black back, says Fisher Textiles, offering a two-in-one solution for printable fabric with a built-in liner. Key features are the soft hand, white point with a Delta E value less than 1.0, ability to cold cut, and 100% opacity, which provides cost savings in material and labour. It is 126 inches wide, maximising production efficiency and expanding usage options for large-scale banner applications.
Additionally, the DD 7801 Flag, winner of the 2018 Product of the Year Award for Media/Textile/Flag, is a leading choice for flags because of its durability and high-quality printability, Fisher Textiles adds. It is engineered to withstand the outdoors, has a very nice drape and gives a considerable amount of bleed through onto the backside.
This fabric has a treatment for direct printing, the preferred print method for outdoor longevity because it drives the ink further into the fibre, states the company, therefore offering improved colour fastness and thus promoting longer use and better colour vibrancy.
Fisher Textiles will be showcasing all these products at the upcoming SGIA Expo in Las Vegas, which runs from October 18-20. Visitors to the show can find the company at Booth 1773. Over 550 exhibitors and 25,000 registrants are expected at the US exhibition.
